The Runaway

In which Michelle and Hailey are usurped in their functions as name-givers and psycho-analyzers by Sokka and Katara, respectively. However, they swallow their sadness and celebrate Toph’s awesomeness while welcoming a new member to the Gaang and expressing mild disgust at sweat and Oedipaly-tinged issues. Michelle and Hailey also offer their heartfelt thanks to all of their listeners, without whom they would not have the strength to resist the lure of Internet episodes.

I love you guys- I listen every week! I thought you made some good points in this podcast- like, the whole Aang/Katara/Oedipus complex thing-ew. Although, it does give me more of a reason to support zutara! ;D I’m also glad that the writers emphasized that Katara does have some flaws (can be bossy, acts too motherly…). I think it makes her character more realistic. And Hawky was amazing. Even if we never see him again, I’m glad he was in this one episode. And I don’t know if you guys have seen the Pilot episode for Avatar, but Mike and Byan originally intende for Zuko to have a pet hawk who would become like Momo’s enemy, so I thought it was funny how Hawky and Momo hated each other.
Also, I wanted to point out a little observation I made. I felt that the scene where Toph kind of “defeats” CM by hitting him on the head with a pebble was a bit of an allusion to the story of David and Goliath where little David knocks over the giant Goliath by hitting him on the forehead with a pebble.
Be strong, girls! Don’t give into the temptation of watching the shows online. I was bad and watched this one early, and I regretted it- but I haven’t seen any of the others, so it’s all good!
Keep up the good work!

The “David and Goliath” parallel is a great catch, Katy! I wonder if Combustion Man’s eye, the source of all his strength, will turn out to be his Achilles’ Heel.
Thanks for the encouragment, as well. Every day is a struggle, but it’s all worth it
